The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA, provides opportunities for formation, study, prayer, and ritual to those considering becoming members of the Catholic faith community. Those who wish to become Catholic are welcomed and introduced to the beliefs and practices of the Church. For those not yet baptized, this process usually begins in the Fall and leads to the Easter Vigil where they receive the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist. Those who have been previously baptized in another Christian tradition are invited during the Easter Vigil to participate fully in the Church through the sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
