The Call Team is comprised of dedicated and caring volunteers who contact each parishioner on our Joy Ministry List.
This personal connection provides our parishioners contact with the parish. Parishioners are able to ask for extra prayers, or schedule a communion call, or any number of issues they may have. This is an invaluable service to both parishioners and the parish.
Currently, 36 drivers are assigned to a neighborhood to make deliveries. Most drivers keep the same route so they can get to know the parishioners on their list. Both drivers and seniors enjoy this connection and friendship.
The Joy Ministry is made up of many volunteers who take a gift of joy to those shut-ins, elderly or someone who just needs some joy! We deliver for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Lenten fish dinner, Easter, as well as Mother's Day and Father's Day.
The Joy Ministry began in 2020, as we were not able to invite our seniors and some nursing home residents to join us for the L.I.G.H.T. lunch due to COVID 19 restrictions. If you would like to assist in delivering these packages which are typically scheduled for late morning/early afternoon, please contact Cindy Withrow at [email protected]. This is a great opportunity for couples and parents-teens teams!
If you know someone either from the parish or a neighbor who is not able to get out, fill out the form below to have them added to our list.
The money raised from the annual St. Ann Ladies Night Out Bunco Party pays for the gifts and goodies we deliver to those on the Joy Ministry roster. The fundraiser provides an enjoyable night of playing bunco, complete with waiters, basket raffles, and 2 fun split the pot games.
Donations are always accepted to help offset the cost of the gifts. As this outreach ministry expands across Mary Queen of Heaven, we will need more funds to cover the additional parishioners we are looking forward to serving.
