This summer we are going to offer a series of speakers on a variety of topics concerning Love in Action. As Father Bryan addressed, we are called to actively engage in meeting the needs of the poor, the sick and elderly, the unborn, the imprisoned, those with mental and physical limitations, and the marginalized. The best way to do this is to begin by familiarizing ourselves with the challenges we are experiencing from the individuals who are making a difference day in and day out.
The series will run from mid-July through mid-September and will take place at St. Ann, in the church on Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Each presentation will last 50 minutes, with a few minutes afterwards for questions. Each speaker will have information available in the Gathering Space for you to take home if you choose.
There will be a complete list of topics and speakers published on the parish websites and in upcoming bulletins. We hope you take advantage of joining us and learning more about these various programs. Knowing about available resources and being able to help out a family member or friend would certainly be a blessing.
On Wednesday, July 16th, Kimberly Bolden and Molly Lyons of LADD will kick off our speaker series. This non-profit organization provides services in Hamilton County and has been empowering adults with disabilities since 1975. Their mission is to provide the dignity of adulthood through housing, health and wellness, day programs, employment, and advocacy. They envision a world where all can pursue one's best life.
